Custom web development, by the person who designed it

If you need a five-page site next month and the content is conventional, a good template on Webflow or Framer will get you there faster and cheaper, and I will say so. Custom development is not a status upgrade.

It pays for itself when the site has a job the template does not do: an interface with real states, a component set that has to stay consistent across dozens of pages, content shapes nobody has a plugin for, or a performance target a page builder cannot hit.

I build the front end. Where a project needs a back end, a database, authentication or a payment integration, I build the interface and work alongside your back-end developers, and that half is scoped by them rather than guessed at by me.

Saying this at the brief stage costs a conversation. Discovering it in week three costs a project, and it is the most common way a one-person build goes wrong.

Static rendering wherever the content allows it, images sized and served in modern formats, fonts subset, and JavaScript kept to what the page actually needs. Speed is not a pass at the end; it is a hundred decisions made while building.

The same goes for accessibility: semantic markup, a sensible focus order, visible focus states and contrast that holds. Retrofitting these later is a rebuild of the markup, which is why they are not a phase two.
